The fertile Mesaoria Valley is located in front of the Karpasia Peninsula. The Akaki and Pedieos Rivers fill with water only during the rainy season. The Cypriot coast is mostly rocky, but there are significant areas of sandy beaches.
The climate is subtropical Mediterranean. In the summer months, the weather is dry and hot, the air warms up to +25-35 °C. In winter, it is mild, with a temperature of +10-15 °C, with short-term rains. The tourism industry of Cyprus was created taking into account the preferences of Russians, so tourists from Russia are warmly welcomed on the island.
