You can enter Cyprus with different visas:
- Pro-visa for a single entry into the country, the application is submitted electronically, the visa is issued as an electronic file. Pro-visas are temporarily not issued;
- national visa of Cyprus, can be single or multiple;
- Schengen multiple-entry visa type C. This visa can be used for a trip to Cyprus only if there is a stamp in the passport about visiting the Schengen area;
- Schengen single-entry visa type C. Entry on a visa category C with a single entry is possible only if the tourist enters a Schengen country and directly from there goes on to Cyprus;
- national visa of the EU countries and the Schengen area (Schengen type D) or a residence permit in these countries;
- national multiple-entry visa or residence permit issued by Bulgaria and Romania. It is not necessary to visit these countries before entering Cyprus.
When to go to Cyprus
The high season in Cyprus begins in the second half of May and ends in September. During this period, the main flow of tourists comes to the island. March, April and October are suitable for excursion trips. Cyprus is especially beautiful in early spring, when everything is in full bloom. In July and August, sightseeing is difficult due to the intense heat. In autumn, the water cools down slowly, so you can swim until mid-October. The ski season opens in mid-December and can last until the end of March.
Take your usual beach clothes and comfortable shoes for excursions. Don’t forget sunglasses, a hat and cream with a high SPF, as the sun is very active in these latitudes. To visit the monasteries, you need clothes that cover your shoulders and knees. If you have space, put a mask and fins for snorkeling in your suitcase; diving equipment can be rented on site. In winter, in addition to a ski suit, you need to provide lighter clothes. In February, the sun warms up the coast and on some days it can be very warm.
